60 pages

The zine brings together a selection of manipulated fashion images and visual research on coded styles, masculinity, and far-right hijackings of streetwear aesthetics.

Some spreads function not as a sequence but also as standalone images. These pages are printed on individual sheets and can be taken apart, collected, or used as posters.

*Every zine is unique—the colors and motifs of the poster pages vary in each edition.

In this project I worked with images of BIPoC models from online-stores of  brands that were, at some point, hijacked by the far right. I removed the logos. What’s left is the body. The pose. The surface. For me these images turn into something else once they’re stripped of context. Portraits maybe. Or fragments. Sometimes just tension.

What struck me was how many of these brands seemed to feature a disproportionately high number of Black models. It felt curated, stylized, even strategic. – Jojo Gronostay
